Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Media Village has officially opened the doors to its second soundstage, bringing the total number of operational stages in the NEOM region to four (two sit in NEOM’s Bajdah Desert Studios). The second stage within the Media Village sits at the same 2,400 square meters capacity as its first stage and is equipped with state-of-the art technology and back-of-house facilities including make-up rooms, green rooms and production offices.
The firms will provide project and construction management consultancy services for the design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of THE LINE.
Edelman has inked a three-year deal to enhance the social media presence of executives at NEOM Tech and Digital Co. The effort kicked off this month and includes strategic counsel, social media copy and content development. It is worth $40K a month.
Engineering services firm Jacobs and Saudi Arabia project management company Jasara are the latest companies to be appointed to provide consultancy services for a linear city that forms part of the NEOM development in Saudi Arabia. Jacobs and Jasara will provide project and construction management consultancy services for the design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the Line, together with the management of the critical interfaces between it and adjacent NEOM projects and logistics.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the launch of the New Murabba Development Co. which is set to transform downtown Riyadh through the building of a unique living, working, and entertainment experience. The New Murabba project will be built around the concept of sustainability by featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy lifestyles and community activities. So, like another smaller NEOM.
Saudi Arabia’s NEOM could emerge as a surprise host of the Winter Olympics, according to the UK’s Independent newspaper. Following Qatar’s successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup and amid repeated bids from within the region for the Summer Olympics to be held in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has been named as a potential host for the Winter Olympic games. The links emerge as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) struggles to find a host willing and able to host future events.
NEOM is looking to seafood as it eyes a sustainable and self-sufficient future of food production in Saudi Arabia. NEOM is teaming up with the Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) and Cargill to develop sustainable aquaculture sector and achieve protein self-sufficiency by 2030. The three parties will work together to explore and scale up sustainable ways to meet rising domestic demand for aquaculture, including through research and development into more sustainable feed sources.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has grand plans for a luxury travel destination set to be 33 times the size of New York City when completed. Sindalah Island – opening in 2024 – could be more extensive than Disneyland, while the octagon-shaped city OXAGON could be the world’s largest floating structure.
TONOMUS, the cognitive multinational subsidiary of NEOM, has announced the launch of its second venture startup competition at LEAP23 in Riyadh. Led by the firm’s TONOMUS Venture Studio, the competition started on Feb. 6, and is titled “The Next Billion.” It is an initiative that invites participants to consider new technologies and innovations that a billion people in the world would require for energy, food and mobility.

NEOM has taken a giant step towards its AI-driven future after announcing a collaboration with tech partners Oracle and NVIDIA on the sidelines of the LEAP23 event in Riyadh. Through its tech subsidiary TONOMOUS, Saudi Arabia’s NEOM will deliver ground-breaking AI across the development. TONOMOUS was the first company to be established as a full-fledged subsidiary of NEOM.
The availability of the globally adopted NVIDIA AI platform will grant businesses that make NEOM their home the benefits of essential processing engines for each step of the AI workflow, from data processing and AI model training to simulation and large-scale deployment.
The venture will be propelled by technology such as the NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPU and the upcoming, NVIDIA H100 – the most advanced accelerator ever produced and an order-of-magnitude leap for accelerated computing.
